ADMINISTRATION TERMS

ACS Sharjah embraces diversity. We enroll without bias to race, creed, gender, nationality and/or religion.

Applicants will be evaluated based upon interview, past academic experience (if applicable), entry examination and a submitted writing sample.

Students ages 4 - 6 receive a placement exam to identify learning strengths and academic needs.  Students aged 7 years and above receive a standardized test to determine if the ACS Sharjah School is suitable for their needs.

There are students who will meet and exceed expectations of our placement criteria.  Other students will not be efficiently served by the challenging requirements of our delivery of the American Curriculum.

In between these two groups are a number of students who, with the proper support, will thrive and flourish in our school.  For these students, ACS Sharjah has developed a unique program called "POLARIS" to support students who otherwise would not be accepted into most schools in the UAE, due to Specific Learning Disabilities or other academic challenges. 

This program also provides intensive and structured assistance to students who's English Language skills would otherwise prevent them from achieving admissions and success from most schools in the UAE.

Besides providing support for students with learning and language challenges, the POLARIS program is the only program in the UAE to provide the critical support and assistance to gifted students, enabling them to reach their fullest potential in their areas of strength, while striving to augment all their other academic subjects and skills.

Terms and Conditions

Grade Placement
ACS Sharjah seeks to make the most appropriate grade placement for each student based on his or her age as well as academic and social and emotional development within Board policy guidelines and UAE law. Each new student for grades 1 through 12 may be asked to complete appropriate level assessments. The school will seek to recommend to the family the grade placement which offers the greatest likelihood of success and growth for the child.

ACS Sharjah is the only school in the Middle East that will offer such an extensive Special Needs assistance program.  No Applicant will be turned, based on academic history and initial testing.  We offer diagnostic testing and after school services and specialist help by trained staff to ensure your child will have a better chance of meeting the requirements of our Curriculum.

English Language Proficiency
English Language Proficiency or growing proficiency is necessary for students to benefit fully from our curriculum. Students may be admitted without such proficiency upon agreement to also enroll in the POLARIS ESL Program.

In-school and after hours tuition will be provided at an extra cost if the child needs assistance in enhancing his/her English skills as part of the POLARIS ESL Program. 

Previous Schooling
All new students are to provide official documentation of previous school experience, including transcripts, report card and test scores. All documents provided need to be in English or translated by an approved translator.  ACS Sharjah may request certification of translation from the Consulate of the country in which the student last attended to meet admission requirements.

Tuition Payment
Annual Tuition will be payable in three installments.  The first installment is to be made by 15th of June prior to the start of the school year.  The second installment is due by 15th November and the third installment is due by the 15th February.

For existing students, payment of the first term has to be made by 15th May and for new students by 15th June.

Family Benefits
ACS Sharjah wishes to promote benefits for families that join our school.  If your child is enrolled and has further siblings, we would like to offer you a 5% discount off each child's tuition fee. 

Company Benefits and Payments
ACS Sharjah seeks to establish relationships with organizations in the UAE in an effort to provide financial or simply moral support for the families of their employees.  We have a special fee rate for organizations enrolling 5 or more students with additional discounts given for single payments made in advance.  We also seek to establish relationships with organizations so as to allow their families the "choice" of choosing the program which best suits their needs.

Our Corporate Support extends beyond Organizations which pay directly for the dependents of their employees who attend schools.  We extend our corporate rate directly to the employees of companies that do not provide reimbursement when 5 or more families from the same company enroll in our school.

ACS Sharjah will also offer a special discount to any child who's parents work for any branch of the Sharjah Government.

Company Accounts
Companies and organizations that have a current account with ACS SHARJAH are requested to provide parents of new students a letter stating that the company will be responsible for payment of tuition and fees.

Methods of Payment
All tuition and fees are payable in UAE Dirhams. Funds may be drawn on a UAE bank through a personal check or a bank draft.  Checks should be made payable in the name ACS Sharjah.

Refunds
As per the refund policy of the school.
